The DANUBEcare project made its international debut at the International Food Innovation and Sustainability Congress (IFIS2024), held at Yildiz Technical University in Istanbul from May 16-18, 2024. Project coordinator Dr. Čabarkapa took the stage to deliver a comprehensive presentation on the project, sharing invaluable insights into effective strategies for mitigating the adverse effects of invasive crayfish in the Danube region. Drawing from her expertise and research, Dr. Čabarkapa presented DANUBEcare’s strategy and elaborated on innovative approaches, highlighting the smart use of crayfish meat and shells for the development of eco-friendly products with commercial potential.
